BYC 2015 One Design Series Day #2 at BeniciaApril 10
Story
For only five boats on the water, there was plenty of race excitement. Against a solid but waning flood, wind speed oscillating around 15knts out of the west on relatively flat water, five races were completed. Although it was a race to shallow water from the start, clear air seemed to win against the flood as starts at the pin end seemed to reach the weather mark first. This was clearly illustrated by Hans. Conditions were perfect for a very fast downwind leg with places changing and gaps closed. Two of the races were close and we finished with the short course #3 downwind finish. A penalty induced capsize 100 yards from the finish on this race resulted in our first RC assist. Having two boats on the water was extremely helpful (thanks Kurt!) as one took aboard crew and picked up marks while the RC boat aided Scott to prevent further turtling. (its all on Scott's YouTube channel for your viewing pleasure). Once upright, Gus joined Scott to sail back in.

Note: To maximize racing, there is little time between races especially for the last boat. Stay in communication with RC if there are timing or course questions!

Until next week,

Jeff
